Over the years dogs have changed and look a lot different than what they did look like in the 1900s. An example of this is the German shepherd. As you can tell they look a lot different, their weight and fur coat are the biggest difference but personality and other things are also included. The reasoning for this is that of humans we have created at least 167 different "breeds," which messes with the genetics of the dog and slowly changes them.
